Paolo Inselvini (FdI): “European Parliament vote on abortion misleads women”
“Today I took part in the Committee on Women’s Rights where, amid applause from the Left, a motion on “My Voice My Choice” was voted. This initiative effectively aims to impose abortion throughout the European Union, even though the matter is and must remain the exclusive competence of the Member States.” This was stated in a note by Fratelli d’Italia–ECR MEP Paolo Inselvini.
“This initiative is funded by the usual actors: Bill Gates, George Soros, International Planned Parenthood, and many others, including the Italian organisation Arcigay. A total of 60 million dollars, of which 10 million come directly from taxpayers’ pockets—namely from the EU, the UN, and several national governments. An initiative that deceives women, pushing them toward abortion instead of safeguarding the dignity and the right to life of the child they carry.
The first fundamental right to be protected, always, is and remains the right to life: that of the mother and that of the unborn child, both too often suffocated by the noise of ideology.
It is striking that while this initiative advances, the previous petition “One of Us”, which collected over 600,000 more signatures to defend the dignity of the foetus, was ignored by the Commission in 2014. With “My Voice My Choice”, what no European or Italian law recognises would be treated as a ‘right’: abortion that is free and without limits.
The vote will reach the Plenary in a few months. We will continue to defend life, the mother, the child, and the future of Europe,” Inselvini concluded.
