The legislation recently approved by the Spanish Parliament on the real and effective equality of trans people” and “sexual and reproductive health and the voluntary interruption of pregnancy” is an accumulation of anthropological and legal aberrations. It is enough to realize a simple reading of the main points.
Everything revolves around the secular dogma of self-referential and absolutized self-determination, a kind of ideological idolatry that tramples on the human and on man and that will not fail to manifest serious repercussions in personal life, in relationships and in society. A mixture of gender ideology and radical abortion that becomes a superb dictatorship that stifles freedom of thought and opinion. The total distortion of rights and even before that, of the person. A lethal attack also on democracy.
Facilities for abortion also for minors, leave paid by the state for “disabling menstruation”, transsexuality as normality and “right to self-determination of gender” for 16-year-old girls and boys, trampling on conscientious objection, sanctions for those who demonstrate in favor of the right to be born and the social relevance of the male-female sexual difference. “A democratic regime can be in clear moral decline due to many factors – reads the statement of the European Federation One of Us ̶ but perhaps there is nothing more serious than the corruption of legislators and judges and in particular of those who have the power to decide on human rights with the powerful support of the media on your side. They are the new moralists, who call evil good and good evil, and who do not tolerate their “dictations” being questioned. Woe to anyone who tries to scratch through the cover of lies that is claiming to call dehumanization a “human right.” Totally nice words.
It is evident that the attacks against human life and the family have become more and more frequent and sophisticated and that the objective of the attack is to change the way of thinking of the people, that is, to change the criteria of moral and legal judgment.
The claims and vindications not only do not stop before the death inflicted on the many children on the way to childbirth or recently generated in test tubes; nor do they stop at the possible manipulations of the sexual dimension of men and women, but they believe that all this becomes normal practice, stifling even the leap of consciousness and ignoring the delicacy and complexity of the age of development.
This is also a war, whose weapons are deceit, lies, censorship, propaganda, intimidation. A siege that seems invincible also because it does not concern only Spain, but is present – where more massively, where less – throughout the world.
What can we do ? Aware of the very long times that historical processes require, especially those linked to culture, to mentality, the attitude to adopt should not be one of resistance in the trenches or fearful withdrawal, but rather a proactive advance to build tenaciously, brick by brick, joining forces, a new culture of life.
It is not about shielding the past, but about building the future at a higher level of civilization and humanity. Start point? The humble and penetrating gaze on the “discarded” par excellence: the newly conceived man. One of us, the symbol of all marginalization and all rejected.
If a society, with the unleashed force of its laws and institutions, allows its youngest children to be killed – let’s use this word from time to time! -; if maternity during pregnancy is not a value to be welcomed and safeguarded, also truly helping women in the face of difficulties; if every claim becomes a “right”, forgetting that the foundation of rights is the inherent and equal dignity of every human life, what can we expect?
