From the 30th of July to 2nd of August 2026, 24 young people from 16 different European countries met for the One of Us Summer Course in Malta. They stayed in Mosta, discussing and learning about different challenges facing the defense of human fragile life and the real freedom of the women, the one to avoid abortion.
During this learning period, they enjoyed participating in a mix of magistral courses and friendly moments. They were welcomed by the renowned Professor Tonio Borg, the One of Us president, MEP Peter Agius, Bernard Weiskirch, sociologist, and Ségolène du Closel, One of Us’ CEO. The courses made participants comfortable to learn and share their opinions on topics such as social perspective on life issues, how to promote both freedom and life in their own countries, and to better console the post-abortion trauma, so many women and men are experiencing all over Europe and asking for help to overcome it.
Through workshops, participants put together their personal experiences and national perspectives. Some of the topics talked about include the distinct contributions youth bring to life organizations, improving the vision of human dignity, and social change across healthcare.
Beyond the conference rooms, the experience was enriched by friendship moments and entertainment, such as sharing meals, walking through the streets of Mosta and Valletta. All these activities have brought the group closer together, transforming professional relationships into strong human connections.
As the participants were back in their respective countries, they returned equipped with practical skills, intellectual enrichment, and above all, knowing that the European defending-life struggle is still led. Their dedication in Mosta proved that the protection of life is not something foreign to the youth, but rather an active desire, a hopeful, and courageous mission led by a generation ready to defend what’s important across Europe.
