For months, the pressure was mounting. As is often the case in European political discourse, the legalization of euthanasia was presented by media and political elites as an unstoppable tide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
According to Mr. Peterle, the proponents of this legislation\u2014those he identifies as being “interested in [the] culture of death”\u2014deployed a strategy of demoralization.
