{"id":3560,"date":"2024-05-29T14:37:31","date_gmt":"2024-05-29T14:37:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oneofus.eu\/?p=3560"},"modified":"2025-10-13T13:42:43","modified_gmt":"2025-10-13T13:42:43","slug":"human-embryonic-stem-cells","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oneofus.eu\/es\/human-embryonic-stem-cells\/","title":{"rendered":"C\u00e9lulas madre embrionarias humanas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El 10 de abril de 2014, \"One of Us\", la segunda Iniciativa Ciudadana Europea (ICE) de la historia, pero primera en firmas (2 millones) y pa\u00edses alcanzados (20 pa\u00edses) ha finalizado su andadura institucional con la presentaci\u00f3n de sus ideas en una audiencia p\u00fablica en el Parlamento Europeo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La principal petici\u00f3n de esta ICE es que se detengan los fondos dedicados a proyectos de investigaci\u00f3n que impliquen o presupongan la destrucci\u00f3n de embriones humanos. Sin estas inversiones p\u00fablicas europeas la investigaci\u00f3n sobre c\u00e9lulas madre embrionarias humanas (cuya obtenci\u00f3n implica la destrucci\u00f3n de embriones humanos) probablemente se ver\u00e1 en apuros.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Como investigadores que trabajamos con c\u00e9lulas madre, queremos apoyar esta petici\u00f3n a la Comisi\u00f3n Europea porque nos parece cient\u00edficamente fundamentada y \u00e9ticamente necesaria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tres razones explican nuestra oposici\u00f3n a la investigaci\u00f3n con c\u00e9lulas madre embrionarias humanas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hay otras posibilidades:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cada tipo de tejido del cuerpo humano contiene algunas c\u00e9lulas madre cuya funci\u00f3n es rellenar los huecos de las c\u00e9lulas que mueren de forma natural. La investigaci\u00f3n sobre este tipo de c\u00e9lulas madre, llamadas <strong>c\u00e9lulas madre adultas<\/strong>ya han obtenido un gran n\u00famero de buenos resultados.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Por otra parte, en 2006, el profesor Shinya Yamanaka descubri\u00f3 un nuevo m\u00e9todo para transformar c\u00e9lulas madre adultas en \"c\u00e9lulas madre pluripotentes inducidas\", equivalentes a las c\u00e9lulas madre embrionarias.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Este fabuloso descubrimiento ha sido galardonado con el Premio Nobel de Fisiolog\u00eda o Medicina en 2012 porque<strong> c\u00e9lulas madre pluripotentes inducidas<\/strong> tiene toda la potencialidad de las c\u00e9lulas madre embrionarias con algunas ventajas biol\u00f3gicas, econ\u00f3micas o \u00e9ticas clave como la posibilidad de fabricarlas a la medida del paciente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Estas dos posibilidades -c\u00e9lulas madre adultas y c\u00e9lulas madre pluripotentes inducidas- son mucho m\u00e1s eficaces:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Las legislaciones nacionales que permiten la investigaci\u00f3n con c\u00e9lulas madre embrionarias normalmente lo hacen bajo la condici\u00f3n de que no existan otros \"m\u00e9todos alternativos de eficacia similar\". Ya hemos demostrado que existen otros m\u00e9todos, \u00bfqu\u00e9 sabemos de la eficacia de estos m\u00e9todos?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tras 15 a\u00f1os de investigaci\u00f3n, el registro mundial de ensayos cl\u00ednicos (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.clinicaltrials.gov\/\">www.clinicaltrials.gov<\/a>) tienen pruebas de 29 ensayos cl\u00ednicos sobre f\u00e1rmacos o procedimientos m\u00e9dicos como consecuencia de la investigaci\u00f3n con c\u00e9lulas madre embrionarias. Por otro lado, la misma base de datos muestra 4.754 ensayos cl\u00ednicos con c\u00e9lulas madre adultas y 135 con c\u00e9lulas madre pluripotentes inducidas, a pesar de que esta t\u00e9cnica es bastante nueva. Los datos parecen evidentes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">La reducci\u00f3n de las normas \u00e9ticas es un movimiento peligroso:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La destrucci\u00f3n de embriones humanos nunca deber\u00eda convertirse en algo normal (y menos a\u00fan en un procedimiento industrializado), algo inevitable si queremos concluir nuestras investigaciones sobre alg\u00fan procedimiento m\u00e9dico a gran escala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La inversi\u00f3n de la Uni\u00f3n Europea en proyectos de investigaci\u00f3n con normas \u00e9ticas m\u00ednimas, aumenta el riesgo de lanzar una carrera por los beneficios a costa de otros valores muy importantes, como deber\u00eda ser el respeto a la vida humana o las preocupaciones medioambientales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hoy en d\u00eda, la tendencia en la Uni\u00f3n Europea es promover altos est\u00e1ndares \u00e9ticos en la investigaci\u00f3n, para reducir el riesgo en los pacientes, pero tambi\u00e9n para tratar \u00e9ticamente a los animales utilizados en los ensayos cl\u00ednicos.
