The vote scheduled for today on the non-binding resolution on sexual and reproductive health and rights, drawn up by Edite Estrela (S&D, PT), did not take place as MEPs voted by majority to refer it back to the Women’s Rights and Gender Equality committee for further deliberation.
The Estrela report is built under an extremist perspective, and the votes are clearly against the imposition of these postulates. It reflects the majority position of the MEP’s from different representations , against the pretension to extend some radical positions into areas of moral, educational and ethical life of the Europeans life.
«One of Us» citizens Initiative is not directly connected with the vote scheduled today. However, at this crucial moment, when more than 1,400,000 citizens from the 28 member states bring their support to the defense of human life, the Initiative’s organizers and the supporting citizens altogether raise their voice to the EU Parliament and to the EU citizens in favor of the protection and defense of the human life from the conception, and for the dignity of the human embryo as «One of Us».
