At the European Parliament, Dutch MEP Sophia In’t Veld is promoting a motion for a resolution asking the European Commission to establish a permanent mechanism to monitor the state of democracy, the rule of law and fundamental rights in each Member State. If adopted, this mechanism will be used by the European Union to sanction countries like Poland which try to put in place pro-life reforms.
This very dangerous “Pact for democracy, the rule of law and fundamental rights (EU Pact for DRF)” is against freedom, democracy and subsidiarity. The aim is to sanction Member States which don’t conform to the so-called «values” imposed by Brussels.
The motion for a resolution will be submitted to vote of the Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) on October 25th.
