Austrian March for Life 2023: Vienna Voices for the Vulnerable

Under the shining October sun, over 2000 pro-life advocates assembled in Vienna for the March for Life 2023. This significant gathering, marking 50 years since the introduction of abortion regulations, sent a powerful message of support for women, protection for children, and a call to make abortion unthinkable.

Inspirational speeches were delivered at Vienna’s Karlsplatz. Dr. Felix Böllmann of ADF International emphasized the universal right to life, while Petra Plonner of #fairändern highlighted a societal desire for more support for pregnant women. Sonja Horswell from SaveOne Europe spoke about the often-silenced suffering following an abortion.

Johannes Reinprecht addressed the disconcerting statistic of 90% of unborn children suspected of having Down Syndrome being aborted. Event moderator, Ludwig Brühl, echoed Mother Teresa’s words, “Peace begins in the womb,” and reiterated the pro-life movement’s goal of supporting mothers, families, and protecting all life.

Despite some disruptions from counter-demonstrators, the event concluded successfully, with participants and organizers looking forward to the next March for Life on October 5, 2024.
