Every year the European Parliament celebrates the day of the Week for Life in which One of Us participates since the beginning of the European Citizens’ Initiative.
Week For Life session 2018 will be held on March 20th .
Member organizations of One of Us will meet at this event to celebrate the Ordinary General Assembly of our Federation.
The visibility of the civil society in the European Parliament is crucial. The defense of life and its dignity must be present for the continuity of our mission. We encourage you to participate in this important event.
RATIONALE
Throughout history, ethical issues that questioned the good work of humanity have always accompanied progress. However, this discordance has always been interpreted in such a neither way that progress was not slowed nor ethics diminished. In the current era of technology in which we live, where artificial intelligence begins to be increasingly present, the situation would not be different.
The conference on “RESPONSIBILITY in the TIME OF ROBOTS”, within the Week for Life 2018 organized by the EPP Group in the European Parliament raises the perspectives that must be taken into account on the ethical application of new technologies. Debate on the possible representation of robots as legal persons, contemplation of a Universal Code of Conduct for them and the adaptation of artificial intelligence in the human body; in addition to privacy in an interconnected world and the social gap that this can originate.
